Clippers For Carter

Yesterday I met up with a friend in Australia, a lady that my wife and I met over the Christmas holidays. Actually Marie is part of our extended circle of friends and has known a number of our family members for many years.

Marie asked me to do something and this blog is part of my fulfilling that promise to her.

Marie's primary request to me was for prayer for Carter. I know some people that can help in that department :-)

I pray that when people learn of Carter's situation that they will not only pray for his healing but also for the strength of the Holy Spirit to come upon Carter and his family to comfort, reassure and strengthen them in the knowledge that God's hand is upon them and that His people are praying for them.

Carter's treatments are also expensive so I reach out to you to prayerfully consider giving whatever financial assistance you can via Carter's website.

Shalom, Welcome to Bibles On Bikes, we're a World-Wide Christian Motorcycle Ministry based out of Australia.

Our purpose is to identify Christians throughout the world who ride motorcycles and to create an evangelical movement, not a “hit between the eyes” but a “hey, we’re Bikers and Christians too…go figure” kind of approach J.

When Twitter came along I did a search for GOD & Motorcycles and got zilch. So I created a Twitter profile @Bibles_On_Bikes and now regularly twitter Bible and inspirational verses as well as ride and group details as I come across them. It has always surprised me, no matter where I ride, at the number of people who come up and talk to you when you’re riding the bike, actually when you’re getting off it…..”G’day Mate, where ya headin?”…….”Hey Mate, like ya bike, Kwaka is it?”….. “Hey there young fella, I had an Indian when I was courtin’ the missus”

I LOVE IT and it always ends up in a 5-10 minute conversation.

Occasionally that conversation will get around to the fact that I’m a Christian , some identify the Icthus [Fish] that I wear and you want to see the look on some of their faces …..absolutely priceless!!!! But it always leads into further discussion, they are interested in the fact that a Biker can be a Christian, why not it was all started by a Carpenter and I reckon that given the chance he would have had one J, I already know that he rode.

I’ll be honest, I’m not the “sit in the pew” kind of guy and the idea to evangelize through my bike was something that has been on my heart for a number of years. It’s a lot easier to talk to people about the Lord when they approach you….and you’re not chasing them down the street with a bible J

As has been the calling to Ministry and my commencing studies in Christian Ministry & Theology this year.

I’m praying to discover other Bikers out there who have the same calling, and link with current Motorcycle / Biker Ministries.

I’m hoping to create a simple badge that fellow Bikers can sew onto their leathers or bike gear…a talking point….., we’re currently working on developing a simple logo (the logo at the top of the page is a work in progress and my beautiful wife is currently helping me to fine tune it). Hey, if you’re into graphic design I pray that He will put it into your heart to give us a call.

I’ve never blogged before and wasn’t too keen about it, or even starting it…..lol….a page later….lol…..that’s enough for now.

Our signature verse is Isaiah 40:31 not only because of what God has done in my life and how He has lifted me up and carries me on His wings to complete His work but also because I reckon that riding a bike is as close as I will get to feeling what it’s like to be an eagle without actually touching the ground….lol

Before you go….would you mind saying this short prayer with me.....

Father God, I pray your blessings on the people that I have met today.

I pray for those who are afflicted either physically, emotionally or spiritually, Lord I ask that your hand be upon them and that your healing power flows through them.

I pray that if the person reading this is not already a Christian but they believe in your truth as given to us through your word the Bible that you will put it upon their heart to accept your gift of salvation by praying this simple prayer with me

Dear Lord,
I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please you. I have lived my life for myself. I am sorry and I repent. I ask you to forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross for me, to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life, I give it to you. Help me to live every day in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you.
